After several months of development and testing time, the CRM Vertex Spring release (2.1) is now available! This release brings myriad new features and improvements, and continues the tradition of solid product releases that has been established by the CRM Vertex team.
One area of heavy investment in the spring release was the CRM Vertex integration with Microsoft SharePoint. In addition to the Public, Company and Contact documents found in earlier releases, user’s now have the ability to create stand-alone document library modules for their portal, and connect to different SharePoint document libraries, or even sites, to distribute documents. This allows a user to create as many document library modules as they would like, and have different security policies for each one. In addition to the document library modules, for those users who have the CRM/SharePoint integration in place, they are able to expose SharePoint documents on a custom module, built with the CRM Vertex Module Builder – and even let users upload new documents into SharePoint, directly from the portal.
CRM Vertex has also worked hard to streamline the initial deployment process, and has rolled out a one-click portal configuration tool. This allows a user to even more quickly and easily deploy a portal, and be up and running with the CRM Vertex core modules in minutes.
Federated login also got some time from the development team, and CRM Vertex now supports federated authentication with Microsoft Accounts, Google, and Facebook. In addition, customers can now configure their portal for claims-based authentication with ADFS, or a custom STS, using Windows Identity Foundation. Great news for users needing single-sign-on with other claims-aware applications.
For the developers in the crowd, fear not – we didn’t forget you! CRM Vertex now sports a nifty client-side API for you to take advantage of. This powerful API gives you access to the CRM data from client-side script, and allows you to perform actions such as create, update, and retrieve records to and from CRM, along with executing FetchXML statements and workflows…all from client-side code!
